HeP in sport

When passion unites two seemingly different worlds

What is a sports page doing on a cosmetics site?

Why do we think that two worlds considered so different, such as sport and cosmetics, actually have so many things in common?

Let's find out together!

The pleasure of measuring yourself in a natural way

No, we will not talk to you about the overused topic of physical well-being, after all we have known for thousands of years that sport is good for body and soul.

What we want to underline is how the most viscerally beautiful sport is the one practiced with passion, without "food shortcuts" or unsportsmanlike behavior: amateur sport, the most natural that exists, exactly like the products that HeP is introducing on the cosmetics market.

This is why you will find HeP on the jerseys of a small and proud Roman basketball team, made up of guys who deeply love this sport, just as we love the idea of carefully crafting our creams and cleansers.

Ethics and Opponents

Again, we won't bore you with a speech on the importance of teamwork, a terribly overused and often misused topic.

We prefer to address another topic, that of our adversaries, on the field and in the laboratory, namely... ourselves.

Sport must help us overcome our limits first and foremost. Often we prefer to look for an external opponent rather than deal with what scares us the most, namely our own weaknesses: and so we end up losing sight of the goal of the path we have undertaken.

HeP wants to be like this, looking inside, continuously improving, and then facing opponents on the field, be they a basketball team or a cosmetics brand; with a smile on our lips, an external expression of achieved awareness of our means.

Impostori vs Intangibles

"...If you can face Triumph and Ruin, and treat those two impostors just the same... Yours is the Earth and all that is in it, and – what is more – you are a Man, my son!"

 – Rudyard Kipling

When we talk about sports, we make too much reference to tangible results, such as the ranking, a direct consequence of the relationship between the two impostors, victory and defeat.

The path that must guide us, in sport as in life, and therefore in the work we decide to do, cannot depend obsessively on these, with the risk of forgetting the so-called "intangibles", the non-directly measurable qualities that team play contains. That is, to name a few, the ability of the individual to help his teammates perform better, the ability to learn from mistakes and defeats, the sense of mutual responsibility.

These are the mortar that binds the bricks of a building under construction: invisible behind the plaster, crucial to the solidity of the structure.

Just like a basketball team that works on these aspects every day, to be able to find concrete traces of them in the results of every Sunday, we at HeP also like to intervene on the intangibles: working in harmony, respecting the "natural" deliveries that we have given ourselves from the beginning, understanding the defeats and analyzing the victories, without becoming slaves to them, as an English poet of the last century suggested...
